Formed in Reno, Nevada in 1980 by brothers Kevin Seconds and Steve Youth, 7 Seconds has been a cornerstone of American hardcore for over four decades. Their debut album The Crew (1984) put them on the map with sharp, positive lyrics that took on racism, sexism, and homophobia—setting the tone for a generation of punk with purpose.
A year later, Walk Together Rock Together (1985), produced by Ian MacKaye, pushed their sound further and helped shape what would become emo with tracks like “Spread.”
After a killer comeback in 2022—including Riot Fest and Punk in the Park in front of 20,000+ fans—7 Seconds is still proving why they’re legends.
